Gourmet Coffee 100% Arabica

All our 100% Arabica speciality coffees, grown in the highlands of Poás Volcano in Costa Rica, unroasted for customizable freshness, and packed in airtight bags with a degassing valve to preserve natural nutrients and prevent oxidation.

Each variety is organically cultivated in small batches without chemical nocive treatments and processed in micro-lots, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Fair-trade, and certified by UN SDGs and PROCOMER.

We offer three unique Costa Rican coffee varieties: CATURRA, SARCHIMOR and VILLA-SARCHÍ.

Origin: Natural mutation originated in Brazil, cultivated in Costa Rica’s volcanic highlands.
Type: 100% Arabica – Grano de Oro.
Flavor Profile: Balanced, with a bright acidity and citrus-fruity notes.
Aroma: Sweet and floral, with hints of red berries and citrus.
Texture: Medium body.
Form: Roasted or Unroasted.
Roasting Process: Available both Unroasted (green beans) or Custom Roasted (Light, Medium and Dark) upon request to preserve natural notes and freshness.

Coffee Roasting Process

At NATURAL de Costa Rica, roasting is treated as a craft — a vital stage that transforms green coffee beans into an aromatic, flavorful product ready to be brewed.

Our roasting partners follow a meticulous roasting method to preserve and highlight the unique qualities of each coffee variety.

While there are countless roasting methods and each coffee type requires its own approach with specific sub-techniques to ensure the maximum expression of the beans natural profile.

Roasted and Unroasted Coffee - NATURAL de Costa Rica

Preheating Phase
The roaster is preheated before green beans are added. As roasting begins, moisture in the beans starts evaporating, prepping them for chemical transformation.

Drying Stage
The beans continue to lose water content. This stage builds the foundation for later flavor development but doesn’t yet create aroma or color.

Maillard Reaction & First Crack
As internal heat builds, sugars and amino acids interact (Maillard reaction), developing the bean’s color and aroma. Eventually, internal pressure causes the “first crack,” a clear sign of progressing into flavor development.

Development Phase / Roast Control
After first crack, the roast is extended to shape the final flavor. Timing here defines whether the roast is light, medium, or dark, and brings out acidity, sweetness, or body depending on the bean and goal.

Cooling
Once the target roast is reached, beans are rapidly cooled to stop further roasting, preserve flavor, and lock in volatile aromas.”

We offer different roast levels depending on the bean variety and customer preference. Only for Caturra and Sarchimor.

LIGHT Roast
Preserves original origin notes and acidity. Ideal for cupping and filter brews.


MEDIUM Roast
Balances sweetness, body, and brightness. Highlights chocolate and nutty notes while maintaining clarity.


DARK Roast (on demand)
Offers bold, smoky flavors with reduced acidity and increased bitterness. Suited for espresso and rich extractions.

Note: Villa-Sarchi is available only as unroasted green coffee beans. This ensures full control over the roasting process for baristas, roasters, and enthusiasts looking to experiment with a delicate, high-altitude variety.

Roasting is done only upon request to guarantee freshness and flavor integrity. By controlling the roast in-house, we ensure that every cup tells the story of its origin — vibrant, honest, and full of character.

Costa Rican Gourmet Cacao Nibs

Our Gourmet Cacao comes from the fertile Caribbean lands of the Bribri region in Costa Rica, an area known for its volcanic richness. It is cultivated organically and sustainably, free of chemicals, by indigenous woman led farming cooperatives who follow ancestral farming methods that protect the environment and empower local communities.

The cacao is presented in pure unblended chunks, artisanally roasted by hand, and naturally sun-dried, ensuring its authentic flavor and full nutritional properties.

Cacao Nibs - NATURAL de Costa Rica

Origin: Caribbean Bribri region, Costa Rica.
Type: Wood-fire roasted cacao nibs (handcrafted).
Cultivation: Ecological, chemical-free, produced by indigenous women using ancestral techniques.
Processing: Sun-dried and hand-roasted.
Packaging: Airtight bag with valve and hermetic seal.
